Mark a chalk line along the bottom of the embellished pansy fan 7/8"
away from the lowermost spoke, using a see-through ruler. Note that the
bottom edges of the fan are not even-one edge is higher than the other.
Mark a short line perpendicular to the line you just made along the bottom
of the fan, marking the center.
Place Pattern Piece #1 along the line marked at the bottom of the fan,
matching the center of the pattern piece with the center you just marked.
With chalk, trace the pattern on the embellished print. Remove the pattern
and check that it has been traced accurately. Note that on the lower edges
it appears that there is not enough fabric to be covered by the pattern.
This is OK. You will line up the silk print with the other pieces of the
needlebook during assembly, and there will be enough fabric for your seam
allowance. If the print looks balanced within the chalk lines, cut out along
the lines you marked. If not, erase the chalk and re-trace the pattern. |
