| Begin stitching at one of the pins marking the 2" distance from the
center. Put the needle down into the fabric, lower the presser foot, and
take one stitch forward. Then take one stitch back. Now continue sewing
around the needlebook, holding the piping (which is now inside the needlebook
sandwich) with the fingers of your left hand, snugging it up to the zipper
foot. Sew the needlebook together one thread inside the same line of stitching
that you are following as a guide. This will ensure that no thread or stitching
shows when you turn the needlebook right side out. Stitch around to the
other pin. At this point, stop with the needle in the "down" position
and take on stitch back and one stitch forward. Now change your settings
to basting stitches. Sew around to where you began stitching. Stop and cut
your threads. |
