With the tip of your iron, press the machine stitching to meld the thread
into the layers. Do not put the full weight of the iron on the needlebook.
The full weight of the iron may smash your piping.
Now press the smallest seam allowance toward the center of the needlebook
with the tip of the iron, from the outside toward the center. Again, avoid
putting the full weight of the iron on the needlebook, as the full weight
of the iron may cause the seam allowances to make a "pressing mark"
that shows through on the right side of the fabric. Leave the piping seam
allowance as it is. It does not need to be pressed toward either side.
Now press the full seam allowance of the embellished piece to the center
of the needlebook with the tip of the iron, taking care to not let the iron
rest on the needlebook.
Remove the machine basting stitches that you sewed between the pins that
marked the points 2" from the center. You are ready to carefully turn
the needlebook right side out. |
