From Pattern Piece #4, cut one outer needlebook page from the flannel.
From Pattern Piece #5, cut one inner needlebook page from the flannel.
Make sure that the fold of the flannel fabric is on the straight of the
grain. It will be important later on to make sure that the straight of the
grain of the fabric is aligned in the center of the needlebook where the
pages are attached. The pages are cut so that they do not extend outside
the needlebook, and so that when closed, the inner page does not extend
past the outer page.
If you do not wish to use 100% flannel for your pages, you might choose
wool flannel, wool felt, soft wool fabric, or even a cotton fabric. Polyester
felt, batting and fabric will draw moisture and may cause your needles to
rust. |
